How Donor Funds Are Used

HKI relies on the financial generosity of individuals, corporations, foundations, and government to help us continue the legacy established by Helen Keller. There are many ways you can give to help us continue our efforts to save the sight and lives of millions of people around the world.

In 2009, HKI dedicated 85.7% of donations and grants we received towards our primary purpose of working worldwide to prevent blindness and reduce malnutrition.
HKI has been given an "A" rating by the American Institute of Philanthropy and the top rating (four stars out of four) from Charity Navigator in recognition of the responsible way we handle your donations.
Only 14% of the charities rated by Charity Navigator have received at least 3 consecutive 4-star evaluations, as HKI has done. This "exceptional” designation differentiates HKI from our peers and indicates that we consistently execute our mission in a fiscally-responsible way.
